Langa Community Action Network’s mission is to empower and uplift the community of Langa by providing cultural, historic, educational, and skills training programs for youth and adults. The organization is committed to creating a safe, prosperous, and united community where all members have access to opportunities that can help them reach their full potential.
Langa CAN’s mission is grounded in the belief that community-led development is the key to achieving sustainable change. What we do
Langa Community Action Network (CAN) offers a range of programs and initiatives aimed at empowering and uplifting the community of Langa. These programs can be categorized into four main areas:
Cultural and Historic Education Activities: Langa CAN believes that preserving and promoting cultural and historic heritage is important for building a strong and united community. The organization offers various cultural and historic education activities, such as tours of the township, storytelling sessions, and exhibitions, to educate the community about their history and heritage.
Skills Training: Langa CAN offers skills training programs to equip youth and adults with the skills they need to improve their employability and income-generating potential. The organization offers various skills training programs, such as computer skills training, sewing and knitting classes, and entrepreneurship training.
Youth Activities: Langa CAN recognizes that investing in the youth is important for the future of the community. The organization offers various youth activities, such as sports clubs, after-school programs, and career guidance sessions, to help youth develop life skills and reach their full potential.
Community Development Projects: Langa CAN works closely with the community to identify and address their needs through community development projects. The organization has implemented various projects, such as community gardens, recycling initiatives, and community clean-up campaigns, to promote sustainable development and improve the quality of life for community members.
