Langa Community Action Network (CAN) is a non-profit organization based in Langa, Cape Town, South Africa. The organization was founded with the aim of creating a safe, prosperous, and united community in Langa. Since its inception, Langa CAN has been actively working towards uplifting the community by providing various cultural, historic, educational, and skills training programs for youth and adults.

Langa CAN was established in 2010 by a group of community members who wanted to address the social, economic, and political issues affecting the community. The organization operates under the principle of promoting community-led development, where members of the community play an active role in identifying and addressing the needs of the community.

What we do

Langa Community Action Network (CAN) offers a range of programs and initiatives aimed at empowering and uplifting the community of Langa. These programs can be categorized into four main areas:

  1. Cultural and Historic Education Activities: Langa CAN believes that preserving and promoting cultural and historic heritage is important for building a strong and united community. The organization offers various cultural and historic education activities, such as tours of the township, storytelling sessions, and exhibitions, to educate the community about their history and heritage.
